I hate the "reply all" function on email. Ok, maybe hate is a strong word. I strongly dislike the misuse of the "reply all" button. I get it. There are certain situations where everyone needs to know the response. But 99.9% of the time people use this button it is completely and utterly unnecessary.
For example: Someone sends an email asking what time a group is supposed to meet and copies everyone in the group.
OK to "reply all": The person responsible for organizing sends an email back with the time. Everyone needs to know, so "reply all" is appropriate.
Not OK to "reply all": One of the group members sends an email about how they will be five minutes late because they are having a colonoscopy that day. No one needs to know that. Telling one person you would be late (and not mentioning the reason) would have been perfectly acceptable.
Am I the only one who gets irritated by this?

I hate reply all. And when I was new to Outlook, it got me in some trouble. ugh.
One time, we had a company wide announcement sent by accident, like 10s of 1000s of people were on the email. And everyone kept hitting reply all to say they recieved the message in error. Then people were all replying all to say stop hitting reply all. It went on all morning. It was kind of hilarious...and annoying.
Ahhh! This happens with my work email ALL THE TIME! We have emails that will go out to the ENTIRE organization and people will reply all for absurd reasons. For example: saying a certain sports team sucks. Then many others will reply all in response! This continues until one of the VPs replies all to say stop replying all about stupid things.
I am shaking my fist with you!
Reply all in extreme moderation people!
this is something that has bothered me for oh - EVER
